About Regional Directorate |
Regional Directorate, Asansol started functioning in the year 1965 in an important industrial belt in West Bengal, viz. Panagarh, Durgapur, Asansol, Raghunathpur etc. The major industries in region are Engineering, Thermal Power, Colliery, Railway etc. Also, there is large concentration of agricultural workers and unorganized workers of different categories, including tribal workers in the districts of Burdwan, Birbhum, Bankura and Purulia. Presently, CBWE, Asansol is functioning with two education officers and five staff members. |
