About Regional Directorate |
Madurai Regional Directorate was started in the year 1963, Madurai centre covers southern parts of Tamilnadu which has workforce in organized, unorganized and Rural Sectors. The Organized sector include, Power, Cement, Textiles, Chemicals, Heavy Electricals, Rubber and Defence etc. Rural Workers are engaged in Plantations, Paddy, Sugarcane, Plantain stone quires construction workers, Flowers etc… Madurai centre has been conducting training programmes in all leading industries like BHEL. It is playing very significant role in training and educating workers in all sectors. So far, it has trained more than One Lakh workers. This centre has so far completed 100 batches of Training of Trainers Course, Personality Development programmes more than 200 batches Unit Level Classes. Madurai centre has been playing a Major Role in eradicating Child Labour engaged in Beedi and Fire works Industry in Sivakasi and Tirunelveli. |
