About Regional Directorate

The Regional Directorates of the Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development (DTNBWED) serve as the vital operational arm of the Board. With a vast network of 50 Regional Directorates spread across the length and breadth of India, these offices ensure that the Board's mission of worker empowerment reaches the grassroots level.

Each Regional Directorate is headed by a Regional Director and supported by Education Officers. These offices act as the primary link between the National Headquarters in New Delhi and the industrial and rural workers in various states. They are strategically located to cover major industrial hubs and remote rural clusters.

Core Functions

Training and Education: The directorates specialize in organizing multi-level training programs. This includes training for the organized sector at the unit level and specialized camps for the unorganized and rural sectors.

Empowerment at the Grassroots: By conducting village-level programs, they educate workers on their fundamental rights, social security benefits, and the importance of collective bargaining.

Grants-in-Aid Management: One of their critical roles is to identify and process financial support for registered Trade Unions. They monitor the implementation of programs funded by the Board to ensure transparency and effectiveness.

Capacity Building: They focus on "Training of Trainers" (ToT) to create a ripple effect of knowledge, enabling worker-leaders to educate their peers within their own industries.

Implementation of Welfare Schemes: They act as information hubs for various government schemes, helping migrant and rural workers gain access to social security and financial inclusion tools.
